about

Canadian phenom Jayeson Andel joined the Silk Music family just last year, but he has already graced us with multiple original cuts and remixes on both Arrival and Silk Royal, some of which have received radio support by Arty, Kyau & Albert, Aruna, Ruben De Ronde, Cosmic Gate, and more. Additionally, he has joined our Silk Royal Showcase radio team as Tom Fall's monthly partner in crime, every first Thursday of the month. We couldn't be happier to present Jayeson's debut artist album, "Urban Monks", here on Arrival, including 11 stunning electronica compositions.

"We'll Build It Here" introduces the album with intricate melodies and a soothing pad rhythm beneath. Later, a hypnotizing piano line brilliantly adds more texture. The title track, "Urban Monks", quickly establishes a breathtaking atmosphere with unique triplets, as well as gorgeous percussion lines. Soon, the memorable and energetic theme riff emerges, which induces the listener with an awe-inspiring feeling. Just recently featured on Arrival and our milestone Silk Royal Showcase #300 event, "Follow The Firefly Lanterns" contains an incredible number of delicious melodies and dynamic percussion stems. "Laughing Buddha" takes off with quite fascinating riffs, and later, the listener is embraced with well-structured percussion lines and unique sound effects that fit perfectly with the melodies. Countless inspiring synths quickly emerge in "Drone", and a provocative beat and intriguing sound effects truly spice up the soundscape. A hypnotic atmosphere is introduced in "Oil In The Veins", which is filled with amazingly tweaked synths and refreshing percussion stems. "Nocturnal Introvert" takes off with delicate piano notes, which are soon followed by trancy theme riffs and strong bassline notes to liven up the soundscape. In "Awe (Part I)", we witness a lush atmosphere with compelling melodies and inspiring background notes, while subtle textures are added on top. "Walking With A Colossus" begins with smooth piano notes and a calm breakbeat. Soon thereafter, a brilliant and energetic synth riff emerges, which unmistakably takes the song to a higher level. A frisky groove is quickly introduced in "Achilles", which is succeeded by darker and more prominent synth elements. Later, gorgeous chords are introduced in the break, as well as delicate bell notes. Rounding out the album, "Awe (Part II)" entails stunning arpeggio melodies in numerous layers. Mesmerizing chords and bassline notes are added later, bringing Jayeson's breathtaking debut album to a thrilling conclusion.
